ECO TOURISM
PRACTICES AT ZAFS

Protecting Nature & Culture

At ZAFS, we are dedicated to promoting eco-tourism in every aspect of our services. We believe that sustainable tourism is essential for the preservation of Tanzania's natural beauty, wildlife, and cultures. Our tours and treks are designed to promote minimal impact on the environment and to provide economic benefits to local communities.

We hire local guides and porters, use eco-friendly accommodations, and encourage responsible tourist behavior. In addition, we work closely with environmental and community organizations to support conservation efforts and promote responsible tourism practices. With our commitment to eco-tourism, we strive to create unforgettable experiences for our clients while promoting environmental and cultural sustainability in Tanzania.

How can we do more good?

OUR APPROACH TO SUSTAINABILITY

Promote wildlife conservation

We support animal conservation operations in the area by educating people on how to safely observe wildlife without producing any harm.

Support locally grown food

Providing locally grown food during the trek and safaris, such as fruits and vegetables, gives more support to farmers and small businesses in the community.

Invest in energy-efficient equipment

We have already and will continue to invest in solar-powered gear and other sustainable equipment to reduce energy consumption, emissions, and carbon footprint

Practice ‘Leave No Trace’ Principles

ZAFS promotes Leave No Trace principles, whatever people pack or bring along, they must carry it all back with them, or dispose of it appropriately.

Eco-bags

After several fires on Mt.Kilimanjaro, we needed to take matter into our own hands and so we designed eco-bags to collect any and all trash from the mountains.
